Many things separated Jake from Wynne in terms of personality: Wynne was driven, Jake was not. Wynne was high-strung, and Jake was certainly not. Jake was happy-go-lucky and spontaneous, but Wynne almost always knew what her next step would be. Of all things, however, Jake was not competitive. In school, in work, in sports, Jake was not competitive. He would rather win, of course, but if he lost at something, it wasn’t a big deal to him. He managed to talk his way onto the best teams, or into decent grades (decent being a pass grade). Sure, he played soccer, but no one could mistake him for competitive on the field. He played in bursts of energy and determination; he would lay back, then charge ahead, all instinct and testosterone. Then, he would lag again, and wait for his coach to yell at him. When he blocked a goal, or made some spectacular move, Jake would revel in it, soak it up, yell and high-five his teammates. But if he lost a game, lost a shot, failed at blocking an offending forward, he would shrug it off without a problem. Many people were frustrated with Jake when it came to sports or anything, really, that had any win/lose factor, but Jake managed not to care at all.
He was almost too busy nudging Flick and calling out to Lainey and Allison to realize that his name had been called. After he heard the cry of “Wallace,” he paused, and looked around for a second, grinning and sweeping his hair out of his eyes. He took a moment to let the other names settle–they were all girls’ names. Hunt, Rydman, Carson, and…Delanvers. He groaned.
Ever since the party the other night, Jake had been avoiding Jade as best he could. When she walked in a room, Jake walked out, without looking in her direction. When he was with Wynne, and Jade decided to join them, Jake left quickly, his tail between his legs. During meals, Jake was the first to finish so that he could leave without having to talk to Jade. Jake didn’t know how he felt towards Jade, and he didn’t know how Jade felt towards him, and he really didn’t want to find out. He just felt even more awkward towards Jade, and because she had kept her stony silence with him, Jake did the same. He knew it was probably hard for Wynne, but she should have realized that when she first became friends with Jade. She should have seen the social grave she was digging.
He chose not to show his remorse for long, though. He whooped and punched the air, shouting, “Let’s go Teeeaaam Estrogen!” He turned to the girl next to him, and touched her arm. “You’re Rydman, right? Hella!” He turned again towards Flick, just as Flick’s name was called to be on the opposing team. Jake let his arms drop, then collapsed around his friend’s shoulders. “It’s been good knowing you, man.” He gave Flick a last teary glance, then grabbed Rydman’s arm and bounded away, towards Lainey, who was still standing next to Allison. Yelling and whistling, Jake threw his free arm around Lainey too, and dragged her away from Allison. He looked over his shoulder and blew a raspberry at her, then scampered down to the arena. He found himself facing five other students, all who looked a little more focused than he, and nearer to Jade than he had been since Friday night. He dropped his happy demeanor and wandered away to the other side of the group, towards the back.
Soon, he was going to have to morph into JakeWolf. Being a werewolf kind of sucked, especially when he was younger and he couldn’t control his actions. Surprisingly, it was pretty uncomfortable to morph into a man-wolf. One must sprout mounds of extra hair, elongate the nose, broaden shoulders, chest, arms, legs, feet, and hangs, and grow long claws. The whole process was ungraceful and extremely unflattering. Right now, Jake really didn’t feel like it. He was suddenly in a grouchy mood, and he didn’t care what grade he got in this class. He glanced at the other team, and realized he had no idea what he was up against. He knew Flick could shrink and grow at will, and he knew Seth and Aidan were pretty good at what they did. Aidan could do some cool stuff with a piece of stick, but he couldn’t even remember what Seth could do. Oh, crap. He thought, rubbing his eyes.
[Okay you don't have to tell me that was CRAP, but I'm like...with prying eyes right now so shut up.]

[Sorry for the delay]
"Make up sex? Man, look Jake, I really consider us just friends," Flick said rising from the ground and taking Jakes hand in his giving it a loving pat and then winking, "I know its going to be tough getting over the loss of all this," Here he paused and took a step back, twirling a bit to show off his ridiculous outfit, "But your just gunna have to try."
And with that he punched his friend in the arm, did a back flip and looked around excitedly. Man the energy in the room was really getting to him. The more people the more excited he got. He was social by nature, driven by conversation and character. Flick truely went by the saying, the more the marrier. Because no matter how many people were in one place, he could always use a few more. Their nervousness made him excited. The heat radiating off their bodies consumed him and made him prepared for what he knew was up ahead. And at the moment it was a girl in a very small skirt. Allison. Rawr.
"Fuck her? Not gunna say she didn't try but I don't take advantage of drunk chicks. I want them to remember the night they had with me."
Flick said with a wink. Of course it was a lie, he had had sex with a drunk chick. But Jeremy had this theory that Blair was naturally intoxicated, like liquor ran through her veins as a child. It would explain her strange behavior all the time. But who was he to talk? He still had yet to see her, much to his disappointment. Jeremy had a little thing going with her. He didn't tell anyone that they'd done it...multiple times and she'd carry on the affair, agree not to get emotionally or physically involved with anyone else. He wasn't sure how well that was going for her as of now. Oh well.
"No idea, guess its because no one around here calls me Jeremy? Its always been Flick. Fuck man, most the teachers think my name is flick," he paused, "Honestly what kind of twisted parent would name their child Flick?"
He rolled his eyes and bent down to tie his shoes but was baruptly pulled up by Jake again. Much to his embarassement. Stop it dude, you fucktard...he'd never actually say that but he was intitled to think it right? Jeremy was very tempted to shrink and escape Jake's grasp but he ended up putting him down anyway. Thank god. Oop, lets not thank someone that doesn't exist now. The boy watched as Allison walked over to them. Damn she looked good. And then ther was Lainey. Beautiful Lainey, of whom he enjoyed talking to but still felt uneasy around her. He had revealed to much about her.
"I-"
He began to explain the situation but was cut off. Their names had been called finally and Flicks deep blues darted accross the room to study his team mates and now his rivals. Flick, Carmichael, Zhang, Hudson, and McCoy. So basically...he knew one person on his team. Hooray. Or, correction. Two. His eyes darted to the dark figure leaning against the wall and shuddered. Liao Zhang scared the shit out of him, there was something about that kid that was incredibly wrong and Hawthorne was the wrong place for him. He belonged with the others.
"See you tool."
Flick said to his friend, licking his fingers and smacking Jake lightly under the chin.
"Wet balls."
He snickered and jogged off to the edge of the arena were his team gathered. Ok so they were up against Lainey, and molly and Jake...Jake and Molly he knew how to handel for the most part. Lainey had revealed to Flick that she didn't know much about her powers or have it under control much so he had to keep that in mind. He jogged in place and little and ran a bit doing a frontal fliphandstand and walked toward Allison before jumping back on his feet. Gymnastics was probably something he should have done...if he didn't feel it was incredibly gay.
"Carson moves things with her mind, Jakes a werewolf and not a pretty one. Molly is an empath watch out for her. She can feel your pain, your emotions like fear and shit. And she can take your powers if she needs to. I dunno Ride-man or whatever her name is, but Jade..well you were at the party."
[completly shit, and now off to post as Liao]

When would they get to fight? When was the fat man going to blow is shiny whistle and allow Liao to finally get some anst out without getting in trouble for it? All this waiting had him aggitated. Extremly aggitated. Every moment seemed to drag on longer than the one before, and with it more people toppeled into the arena. It wasn't that he was afraid of people. It was that he hated them, the way they smelled and interacted with each other. The way they had to constantly be touching on another as a form of communication. He hadn't always been this way. Before he was shy, sure, but he would shake someones hand, let people jokingly sneak up on him. He had kissed a girl before, hugged a girl before. But then came his powers and his feelings about humanity changed. Now they were vial.
His dark eyes ran over the array of colors that coated the Arena. Like looking at a rainbow. Blech. He hated rainbows...it went along with the sunshine and daisy people. Life was not sunshine and daisies. Unlike most people at Hawthorne, his parents had not kicked him out of the house when his powers were revealed, rather they embrassed his difference releaved that his strange ways had reasoning behind them. The only unhappy person about it was Boa, his brother. He had never seen his brother more afraid, than when he learned that his baby brother could tear people apart by manipulating wind. It was delightful. They were the ones that picked Hawthorne. Other than his brothers beatings and his parents verbal downtrottings when he was younger, he lived a perfectly normal home life.
That didn't mean he wasn't as weak as any of the other students
Maybe that fact made him stronger. The fact that his anger came from within, that his emotions changed like the weather, that they changed the weather. Maybe thats what made him different from the other students he was now watching. Two imparticular. One on the floor grasping the others pants singing. And not well. The one on the floor he recognized. The other he did not. And then a girl joined them, and Liao's hands curled into fists. He knew her.
Flick, Carmichael, Zhang, Hudson, and McCoy.
Finally...only...he was in the same group with the small obnoxious boy he had previously tried to kill. And as Liao walked over to their side of the Arena he realized the girl was on their team as well. Liao didn't work in teams. He was powerful enough for all of them, what was the point on making him work with others if he could easily destroy them in a blink of an eye? The Dean had told him You are capable of so much good, But this was so much more fun.
"Werewolf?"
he said and regretted it. There were times, when he was unable to control his words. When they slipped and slide past his tongue and were pushed past his lips. Zhang had been standing there, amongst his team members, listening to them conversate, picking up certain things of interest. Werewolf was all he heard. Immediatly he was interested. And the boy could summon that on command? Impressive. He waited. This was getting tiring, all this waiting, and created indoor thunder. blow the goddamn whistle
[awful post, didn't know what to write really]

Fighting. What a lovely past time, no? Isn't it funny that many people are discouraged from fighting, but all of these students had a whole class upon the subject? They were all supposed to use their powers against a team of opponents and whatnot when other students never did this sort of thing. They had gym, where they got to play with basketballs and all that jazz! Well, I suppose some sort of physical activity is better than none, right? That must have been the thought process for this system.
Jade's thoughts trailed in circles and then back around again. she wasn't really sure as to what she was going to do with this. She wasn't sure that this would go over so well. She didn't like the fact that she was working with people she didn't really get along with. She wasn't good with teamwork. Jade Delanvers wasn't the type to work along with others that well. She was a loose canon at times, though it seems that Miss Delanvers could be on a team if necessary; she did make the Team at the school! She couldn't have been too horrid! Though, they could have done it just to test her. A trail period could be good, though Jade had felt quite boosted when she had made the team. She didn't really show any emotion, though. It would probably surprise many to realize she held any emotion.
Crystalline eyes travled over many people. Flick, some blonde chick, Jake, Lainey, some Thai boy, a girl with bugg-eyed glasses, Seth... There were so many with powers that might be helpful, but it seemed that many of them were partnered with team members. There were memebers of the great team on both sides. It wasn't really great thinking was it? Jade didn't want to go against Seth, that she knew well enough. She would rather not go down that road at the moment. She could barely control herself at times anyway. Flick, he shrank and grew. The blond girl could multiply herself. Jade knew a few of their powers, but she wasn't really too sure. Jade just knew that her powers were probably the most potentially dangerous considering she could make a mistake and blow everyone in the arena up if she lost control. That was a must. She must keep herself undercontrol at all costs! Ebony hair fell over her back quietly as Jade turned to her 'team mates' for the moment.
How could they work together? Were they expected to work together? Should they just do their own thing? This wasn't going to work well enough! Jade didn't like the fact that everything was so vague and they could just all stumble off and do their own thing! Her mind was quick enough to figure out what she needed to make sure was done. She didn't want to loose and she sure as hell wasn't going to let herself look moronic or anything. Eyeing her 'team mates' Jade crossed her arms for a moment and then allowed them to drop as she considered actually blowing them all up, though that wouldn't be fair would it?
Thoughts ran rampant through the girl's head and she wasn't sure how this was going to go. She didn't like the fact that they all seemed to be able to work together on the other team. Jade knew that for the better or everything she would have to work with others. Turning to the people on her team, most of which were women, Jade cleared her throat a bit and peered at the opposition. What was going to happen? This might not work as well as people might have thought? She didn't really like it at all. She shook her head a bit and turned to Lainey, seeing as she was the one that Jade had the most problems with! Though, Jake came in that close second! Wait, on second thought! JAde turned to Jake and though she pretty much hated him and was rather upset with him at the moment considering he had cracked her skull against the linolium. Gritting her teeth a bit, Jade nodded her head to get some attention.
"We need to combine you're brute strength with actual powers that will do something. They've got a combination of things with them and seeing as we've got the people that hate each other that's going to make it much more difficult."
Pretty obvious, right? Jade was almost positive that this wasn't going to work. Her eyes had studied over the opposition and she wasn't sure which one she would be the best to go against, but she'd do what was necessary. She had to do this. Hell, Jade woulod be able to easily take down someone with brute strength if she wanted to. She had the fighting skills. She was trained to an extent. Jade knew she could handle things, though she was pretty sure that if her control was lost again it might turn out worse this time, but Jade had made sure that she was under control today. She was trying quite enough! Her emotions were all over the place a lot of the time, but she might be fine. Though, she might blow up the grounds too... either way it depended upon many of the different factors. The first move wasn't up for Jade to make... she had to see if her 'team' could come up with an agreement upon a course of action before the other team struck first. This was going to be oddly eventful...
(Pretty sure that sucks, but I did try!)
