[This runs at the end of Harry Potter and the Trios Sixth Year.]
At the end of every school year a collection of letters are sent to the homes of misbehaving children, children who the Ministry believes would benefit from three weeks at Camp Sunnydale. The camp has been running for three years. It is place where the selected children go to improve on certain aspects of life in a new environment with new peers.
But how are these lucky students selected?
There are three ways to be offered placement at Camp Sunnydale.
The first way is through the involvement of the Ministry of Magic in its three-year running, newly acclaimed division. This division is located in the Department of International Magical Co-operation. This division is not terribly well known and deals with the future of magic. It handles in the running of all schools across the globe and rightfully holds all student files. The selection process takes place at the end of every school year where students who have received black marks for behaviour, skipping class etc are sent letters addressed to their parents. These letters are offered positions at Camp Sunnydale.
The second way to be accepted is through personal recommendation by teachers, parents or community members. In this case misbehaving is the common reason for placement and a series of interviews with both the students parents and the student themselves are required. Placements are then offered to those who would appear deserve it the most.
The third and final way to receive an invitation, so to speak, is through another branch of the Ministry of Magic located in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. It is here that files are kept on juveniles and their involvement in petty crime. [NOTE: Petty crime means small. This would include stealing, graffiti, underage drinking etc.] For a placement to be offered in this area a student must have two black marks minimum to show a repetition in poor behaviour.
From here letters are sent to parents regarding their child’s behaviour, interviews with only the parents are common.
What the students do not know upon arrival is that Camp Sunnydale is much like a boot camp.
For the next three weeks the selected students will endure lectures, early morning wake-up calls, team activities and survival tests. They will form friendships, make enemies, arouse hormones. In a stressful situation with nothing but the most undisciplined, rebellious and terribly behaved teenagers drama and excitement is a given.
PLEASE NOTE: This is not a rehabilitation clinic.
